How we can help

William Lam, Principal Solicitor

William Lam

Principal Solicitor

Your lawyer from start to finish.

Although there have been some recent reforms towards the legalisation of drugs in NSW, drugs still largely remain illegal and all drug offences carry severe sentences.

At Lam Legal Group, we have helped clients get the best outcome possible across all types of drug offences, including where evidence has been illegally obtained or there was insufficient evidence to charge our clients.

We also understand that drug use is a complex issue that involves multiple factors. We will work with you to present your best case.

Matters we handle

We handle all types of drug offences.

  • Possession of a prohibited drug

Including matters arising from searches at music festivals, events and licensed venues.

  • Supply and distribution

Charges based on quantity, messages or other evidence that police say shows supply.

  • Manufacture

Charges involving the manufacture or cultivation of prohibited drugs or plants.

  • Importation

Commonwealth importation matters, including commercial quantities.

  • Unlawful searches

Challenging evidence where police may not have had the power to search you.

What if police searched me without a good reason?

Evidence obtained illegally can sometimes be challenged. William has a firm understanding of police powers under the Law Enforcement Powers and Responsibilities Act and will review how your search was carried out.

I was caught at a music festival. Can you help?

Yes. William has a keen interest in the EDM music scene and has worked closely with NSW movements in this space, so he understands how these matters arise.

Is a small possession charge still serious?

All drug offences can carry serious consequences. The right approach depends on your circumstances, so get advice before your first court date.
