Background
Our client worked full time as a delivery driver and was the main income earner for their family. After a speeding offence, they received a notice suspending their licence, which would have cost them their job.
Our approach
William acted quickly so the appeal could be lodged within the time allowed. He then worked with the client to show the court why they needed their licence:
- a letter from their employer confirming the role depended on driving
- character references from people who knew them well
- a full copy of their driving history, along with a written explanation of the offence
The outcome
The court accepted that the client had a genuine need for their licence and reduced the suspension period. The client kept their job and was back on the road sooner than the original notice allowed.
